365 project
I’ve decided to do a 365 project. Hopefully I can keep it up to post one picture every day for one year. Fingers crossed.

Studio Lighting
So the recent posts are from a studio lighting course that I’m currently attending at the photographic society of Singapore. :)
All the pictures have not yet been post-processed because I just wanted to get them up fast. I’ll probably post finished versions later on.
Finally I’m doing studio lighting and it looks as great as I hoped it would.

Wow
I haven’t posted here in 3 months?
Embarrassing but I have to admit school and life in general has been really taking a lot out of me both in terms of time and in terms of energy. I promise to start posting again soon. Just a promise to myself mostly as I’m pretty sure any of my followers would have forgotten about me by now. Lol.

Recently...
I’ve been out visiting museums in Singapore because there’ve been a few interesting exhibits I’ve been meaning to check out.
Learnt something about photographing exhibits in museums. It’s hard. Can’t use the tripod due to lack of space, can’t use flash due to museum rules, the lighting varies greatly from exhibit to exhibit, end up having to extremely high...

Peace and laughter
rockehmonkeh:
A photo I took of my father’s laughing Buddha statue. It’s made from black rock which gives it an interesting texture. Tried using portraiture style lighting to light it even though it’s a still life because after all it’s a figure of a human.
This picture reminds me to keep calm and think positive when things get rough.
Reblogging this from my personal blog. This photo was...

Night scenes!
Just had a night photo outing last night. The location was at the Esplanade area and we took shots of the Esplanade and Singapore river area. :) Pictures in the queue now. Quite satisfied with the good ones I got.
Need to take more photos!!! Now!

Learning Points
So I’ve been learning a lot about photography lately. Learning by doing is definitely the best. Also I’ve realized by the greater number of reblogs that I’ve been getting lately that my Avril Lavigne shots are definitely more popular than my nature photography shots. Hopefully it just means that people like live band photography more? Or if it’s just a case of liking that...
Anonymous asked: Hi, I'm a student from Ngee Ann Polytechnic and I'm from UrbanWire (online school publication). I did a piece on Avril Lavigne's Black Star concert that night, and I really admire your photos. Would you mind me using your photos and crediting you in the post?

Upcoming photos...
So far since going for photography lessons I’ve gone for one photo outing at the Singapore Botanical Gardens and also tried to take some photographs at a live concert of Avril Lavigne’s. So you’ll be seeing some photos from these two photo sets soon. :) I feel like I’ve managed to improve already and I’m really happy with that but I know I’ve still got a long...

Progress
So far the course has given me a new depth of understanding regarding exposure so I’ve already learnt something. :)
Tried to work on a picture with the concept of “Motion” at a go-kart competition over the weekend but didn’t get any good pictures. Any tips? :( it’s hard to get the panning down right.
First lessons...
So I just got back from my first lesson at the photographic society. The first lesson was pretty simple stuff, just basically examining how lenses work, focal lengths, crop factors and ISO. The assignment of having to submit 6 prints for assessment at the end seems pretty fun, looking forward to that. :)
